About the press

A small press with one obsession: the joy of unhurried reading.

Freedium Mirror began late one night in Kathmandu with a familiar sigh — a brilliant essay, four paragraphs in, and a wall. Not a paywall you resent; a wall you simply bounce off when all you wanted was to finish a thought.

So we built a reading room instead of an argument. Paste a link, get the whole piece, beautifully set, and go back to your evening. That's the entire product roadmap.

We're not affiliated with any publisher, we don't host anyone's words longer than a coffee break, and we'll always tell you to support writers whose work you love. Think of us as the friendly newsstand that lends you glasses — the magazine was always public.

What we believe

I

Reading is a right

A great idea behind a clickwall helps no one — not the reader, and honestly not the writer either.

II

Privacy is the default

No accounts, no analytics, no reading history. What you read tonight is nobody's business but yours.

III

Own your tools

Self-hosted and open source. Run your own copy and the whole press lives on your machine.

IV

Craft over clutter

Comfortable typefaces, honest margins, warm paper tones. Reading should feel like a good chair.
